The Truth will set you free. Do you believe it? Or is it just a platitude to make us feel better. The thing I hear the most is, when a famous twirly-haired teevee evangelist is caught on tape passing a hash pipe to one of his "ministry" workers, and very soon after that man is found dead of a heroin overdose, that we shouldn't tell the truth about this, because it will not set us free, it will not set the unbeliever free, in fact we should keep it quiet. Keep it quiet, so that shame is not brought on the Name of Christ. The same thing goes we suppose when one of the most vocal homophobic teevee evangelists is caught red-handed paying off a male worker that he made advances upon.
Shhhhhhh! Be vewy vewy quiet. Do not tell the truth. Keep it under your hat.
These men are anointed. They blow on people and those people fall over backward. They make a jibber-jabber noise and it is anointed prayer language. These are men of God, some of them even call themselves "The Man of God," and tell you that you are sinning if you do not obey them.

The thing of it is, we are not told that the lies will set us free. That surpressing the Truth will set us free. That hiding the actuality will set us free. That sharing in their awful sins through our silence, we will be set free.
I think what we must conclude, is that even though the Bible says that the Truth will set us free, many of these people are not actually following what the Bible says, or following Whom the Bible claims IS the Truth, that these people are shouting out "Jesus! Jesus! Jesus!" and yet they are telling you about a whole 'nother Jesus, probably in reference to the being called "the prince of this world," or the "god of this world," the one that goes about like a ravenous lion seeking whom he might devour, the one that is very angry because he knows his time is short.
Do you worship this being? The powers in high places? The ones that claim that the "God fo the Old Testament" is insane? The ones that claim you, yes YOU, are in fact a god...?
It's up to you, and your silence speaks volumes, and speaks it quite loudly.

“Truth that has merely been learned is like an artificial limb, a false tooth, a waxen nose; it adheres to us only because it is put on. But truth acquired by thought of our own is like a natural limb; it alone really belongs to us.”
- Arthur Schopenhauer
