Noted scientist Stephen Hawking recently stated that he did not know how we, Planet Earth, would survive the next 100 years (at least the human species), and that seems to be a growing consciousness -- not the end of the world, or even its close proximity -- but the dire crisis of our world, in our time, of our very existence. Most people, regardless of religion or lack thereof, are aware that a dark storm is there on the horizon, and despite all of Society's lofty advances, the world is in trouble.
Scientists and philosophers and common folk realize something is happening. It is true, the evidence all around us, and yet the truly troubling symptom is that the majority of people deny that this is indeed the truth. Most feel this is the way it not only is, but also as it always has been, and always will and even should be.Others, a minority of a minority, are waking up, as if from a confused dream. Eyes are opening, all over the world, slowly at first. Slowly, but patiently, a little at a time.This slow waking is also known as "The Quickening" (and linked closely to the Biblical concept of "Shaking"), and it is palpable, as powerful as the darkness that is simultaneously closing down upon the eyes of the majority.q u i c k • e n • i n g

That definition speaks volumes, on many, many levels, to the deepest depths. There is a minority that is "coming alive," there is a movement stimulating and stirring, and we -- the world -- are reaching the stage of the "pregnancy" where the fetus can be felt to move. It is all happening, now, and it is real.The birth pangs have begun.Do NOT Be Deceived. Do NOT be fooled, by either side, those that mock spirituality, waving
hands in the air while demanding "sow a seed of $1,000 in this ministry," or those that convince
you that you have no choice, or that there is no God, or that peace is coming, and that
there is nothing to worry about. Wake up. Open your eyes. It is all around you.
Deceivers and false prophets are loose in the world, deceiving many.

Spirituality is seeking and finding God, it is being cracked open and filled with Grace, it is learning that God is love and that there is no room for hatred. Christianity is about realizing that tolerance is the correct path, agreeing to disagree, and disagree gracefully. It is learning that God never forces Himself upon you, and He expects that you follow His example, that you never force yourself on the unbeliever, the nonbeliever. That you accept that the Holy Spirit will reach and work with that other person, and that God very well may have set up a "Jabez Appointment" for YOU to learn from that person you so very strongly disagree with -- that they, in fact, may be correct, and that you, despite years of tradition, may very well be wrong, dead wrong.
