In the Iliad, there are several passages where gods or goddeses swoop down like raptors to deliver their beloved followers from near-death experiences. The people are "caught up" and delivered over space and time, to a far and different location, hale and whole. When Paris fights Menelaus on the beach as the Achaens invade Troy, Menelaus gains the upper hand and is about to kill Paris, when Aphrodite swoops down and "catches up" Paris to his own bedroom. It is just a flicker in time for Paris as he is delivered to safety. To the watching Trojans and Achaens, Paris mysteriously vanishes. You might be surprised, but there are passages in the Bible where a similar being performs a similar miraculous feat of awesome time/space bending of reality. Was it God, or a completely OTHER someone?
"Aphrodite snatched him up in a moment (as a god can do), hid him under a cloud of darkness, and conveyed him to his own bedchamber."
- Homer
The ancient Greeks, or Achaens, worshipped a whole pantheon of gods, and the Romans after them adopted and expounded on these "deities." You have to ask yourself, what is the TRUTH? Here are the possibilities: 1. The Ancient Greeks and the Romans after them were correct, and these gods either did exist, or still exist. 2. The gods were the way the heathens interpreted the reality of God, so what they practiced was a shadow of the Truth. 3. The gods were complete invention, utter myth, based on no reality. 4. The gods were ancient and powerful beings, at war with the True God, the One God, and they deceived the people into false worship of themselves, stealing worship from the True God, Yahweh, and casting doubt and suspicion upon Him for all time.
Did you know that there are a few verses in the Bible which can answer this question, of which is TRUTH?
When something is unBiblical, and yet false prophets are emphatically prophesying a thing, it just might be a good idea to pay attention to this thing they are prophesying about. These false prophets are plugged into a mighty force, one that is unholy, but will grow in power as the day wanes and even though what they prophesy is lies, what they are claiming very well might happen.

Matthew 4:5-9: Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. KJV
NT:3880 paralambano (par-al-am-ban'-o); from NT:3844 and NT:2983; to receive near, i.e. associate with oneself (in any familiar or intimate act or relation); by analogy, to assume an office; figuratively, to learn: KJV - receive, take (unto, with)..)
NT:2983 lambano (lam-ban'-o); a prolonged form of a primary verb, which is use only as an alternate in certain tenses; to take (in very many applications, literally and figuratively [properly objective or active, to get hold of; whereas NT:1209 is rather subjective or passive, to have offered to one; while NT:138 is more violent, to seize or remove]): KJV - accept, be amazed, assay, attain, bring, when I call, catch, come on (X unto), forget, have, hold, obtain, receive (X after), take (away, up).
NT:3884 paralogizomai (par-al-og-id'-zom-ahee); from NT:3844 and NT:3049; to misreckon, i.e. delude: KJV - beguile, deceive.
The compound idea here, in the Greek, is that "taketh him up" is from paralambano / lambano / paralogizomai -- it is to take up, or catch up, to violently seize -- it is a deception.
This was the devil performing this amazing deception, apparently seizing Jesus in a moment and taking Him to the top of the temple in Jerusalem, and moments later to take Him to the top of a high mountain. The Bible does not specify if the devil actually seized Jesus through time and space, in a moment transporting Him to impossibly far locations, or if He deceived Jesus into thinking He was "caught up" (of course most translations interpret this to mean that Jesus was physically transported).
Is it possible?
Matthew 4:1-11 - Matthew Henry's Commentary:
Hither the blessed Jesus was carried for the advantage of a prospect; as if the devil could show him more of the world than he knew already, who made and governed it. Thence he might discover some of the kingdoms situate about Judea, though not the glory of them; but there was doubtless a juggle and a delusion of Satan's in it; it is probable that that which he showed him, was but a landscape, an airy representation in a cloud, such as that great deceiver could easily frame and put together; setting forth, in proper and lively colours, the glories and the splendid appearances of princes; their robes and crowns, their retinue, equipage, and lifeguards; the pomp of thrones, and courts, and stately palaces, the sumptuous buildings in cities, the gardens and fields about the country-seats, with the various instances of their wealth, pleasure, and gaiety; so as might be most likely to strike the fancy, and excite the admiration and affection.
Such was this show, and his taking him up into a high mountain, was but to humour the thing, and to colour the delusion; in which yet the blessed Jesus did not suffer himself to be imposed upon, but saw through the cheat, only he permitted Satan to take his own way, that his victory over him might be the more illustrious.
Matthew 4:8 - Jamieson, Fausset, and Brown Commentary:
Again, the devil taketh him up [`conducteth him,' as before] into, [or 'unto,'] an exceeding high mountain, and showeth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them. Luke (Luke 4:5) adds the important clause, "in a moment of time;" a clause which seems to furnish a key to the true meaning. That a scene was presented to our Lord's natural eye seems plainly expressed. But to limit this to the most extensive scene which the natural eye could take in, is to give a sense to the expression, "all the kingdoms of the world," quite violent. It remains, then, to gather from the expression, "in a moment of time" - which manifestly is intended to intimate some supernatural operation-that it was permitted to the tempter to extend preternaturally for a moment our Lord's range of vision, and throw a "glory" or glitter over the scene of vision; a thing not inconsistent with the analogy of other scriptural statements regarding the permitted operations of the wicked one. In this case, the "exceeding height" of the "mountain" from which this sight was beheld would favour the effect intended to be produced.
And the devil, taking Him up into an high mountain, shewed unto Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. Luke 4:5 KJV
Is it even possible, for the devil to pull off a stunt like this?
The sad fact is, the "New Age Christianity" that prevails
in the world today, does not even believe in the devil
(or really, if it even believes in GOD!),
or if it does, it is a cartoon version as portrayed by the
likes of Kenny Copeland, who describes the devil as
"Nothing more formidable than a four-year-old boy
in a scary, scary Halloween suit!" Okay, so Copeland
would NEVER use the word "formidable," he probably
more said something like "big meanie." But New Age
Christians today believe they can cast out the devil
with their own authority, with their own power,
The believe they can step on his head, dance on it. New Age
Christians today believe that they are gods, that they
can create by speaking -- so of course, it is only evident
where they got this preposterous notion, that as
ignorant and weak as they are, that they are gods
(fairly pathetic gods, if gods they be). Not only
does the New Age Christian believe the devil to
be puny, themself to be all-powerful, and God
to be a faulty, flawed, mind-changing MAN, but
that the Bible is an ancient collection of fairytales,
almost the identical belief to what any pagan
or atheiest believes, except that the New Age
Christian believes themself the channel of a
"New Word," one far superior and relevant
than anything an ancient papyrus could ever
say to the world today -- the New Age Revelation
is superior to the Bible. And it is this New Age
Christian who believes themself god, who believes
the devil a pathetic joke (if he exists at all), and
God a stuttering fickle fool -- it is this New Age
Christian that is prophesying that soon he and
she will be "raptured out of this world." It is their new
and improved revelation which supercedes the
Bible -- New Ager and Rapture Guru Tim LaHaye
is so audacious in his false prophethood that he actually
admits, fully and freely, that the Rapture is not Biblical,
but his foolish servants that worship his pathetic godhood
yet clamor for the next installment of his fantasy
series, typed out robotically by dupe Jerry Jenkins.
And the whole world marvels at the glow-ray-us
prophesying of the False Prophet, and yet God
hasn't said a single word.
But what does the Bible say about the devil and his
deceptive power?
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. 1 Peter 5:8-9 (NKJV)
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Revelation 12:9
For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Matthew 24:21-24
Some fools in their arrogance read Mathew 24:24 and gurgle that they cannot be deceived, misreading the meaning of this whole chapter, which states, emphatically, that given half a chance, the false New Age Christian prophets of today will even deceive away Christ's followers!
For false Christs and false prophets will arise, and they will show great signs and wonders so as to deceive and lead astray, if possible, even the elect (God's chosen ones).
Amplified Bible
People will come and say they are the Christ. People will come and say they are prophets. But they are not true. They will show big signs and do wonderful things to fool people. They will fool God's chosen people if they can.

Are YOU Rapture Ready?
The Secret Rapturists even inadvertently admit to you what is coming upon you like a thief in the night, and it is NOT Jesus (the Bible says that the "day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night"); the Rapturists quote "The Flood Came and Took Them All Away," and they say, confidently, "the same with you." But the flood took away the wicked, it drowned them, the Righteous remained on the Earth, safe in the ark, the Righteous were not taken away by the flood. Beware the Trojan horse, which burned Troy to the ground, and beware the New Age "Christian" Horse which leads to a fiery end!
Conspiracy? You are Surrounded.
It is all around you, even now.
When His Disciples asked about the
end of the world, do you know what
was the FIRST thing Jesus told them?
And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. Matthew 24:3-5
The false prophets of New Age Christianity are prophesying a Secret Rapture and they even properly admit that the wicked will be removed from the earth, and they invite you to be one of those wicked ones that die. To remain is to live, to go is to die, and they will even quote the verse about "apart from the body." Are you a part of them?
For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
2 Thessalonians 2:7-12
Do you love the TRUTH?
Or do you love the LIE?
Are you a worker of iniquity?
Or do you keep God's
Commandments?
It's actually one or the other. There is no such thing
as "carnal christians," that's a lie made up to keep you
wandering in darkness. There are many, many lies
invented to keep you in a state of thinking "I is saved!"
...whereas the sad fact is, you have never met the One
that can save you, and He is not an earthly "anointed one"
or a false teacher or practicing deceiver...
...and He is REAL. He is ALIVE.
